I don’t know what it is about cupcakes, but we love them! I don’t eat them very often, but I sure like looking at them. As cupcakes once again gain popularity on and off the Internet, people everywhere continue to be inspired by the sweet treats. Misty and I have written about cupcakes many times on Bit Rebels. We’ve covered the anatomy of a cupcake, cool cupcake designs, and even corsets that are inspired by cupcakes.
Today we are featuring a hot chocolate cupcake design. It’s a bit of an optical illusion when you first glance at it. It takes a moment to realize that the cup is part of the cake! This cupcake is made with read to roll (RTR) fondant. You can see how shiny and thick the icing is in the pictures. These are definitely too pretty to eat! To me, these are fancy enough to be served at a wedding or formal dinner.
The person who created and baked this lovely design is of course Ladybird. She is known for her creativity when it comes to food design. I just wish she’d come to Atlanta and open a bakery! You can learn more about her and get the detailed recipe and instructions for making these cupcakes on Diary of a Ladybird.
