How To Get In Tip-Top Shape During Quarantine

Because of the pandemic and the lockdown, we’re all stuck at home since the beginning of the year. Now, almost all of us work from home and rarely go out, and those who are obligated to go out are not feeling safe. All of that is causing stress and anxiety for a lot of people, which affects their mental and physical health.

The best way to relax and release all the energy is by exercising but since the gyms are closed, it could be a bit challenging. Staying in shape or losing weight while we’re in quarantine can be really hard. Many people can’t push themselves to work out at home, as they’re not used to it. That’s why it’s important to find an exercise that you’re interested in so you can commit to it and get in shape without going out. Here are few ways on how you can get in tiptop shape during the quarantine.

Running Or Walking

Running, jogging, or walking for an hour every day can help you connect with your mind and relax from all the stress around you. Set a daily routine to walk or run around your neighborhood to keep your body in shape or lose weight if you want. You will also be able to enjoy the sun and nature without interacting with other people. However, walking or running can be a bit boring for some people, which is why it’s essential to make it a little interesting.

Don’t walk around without a goal or a plan. Set a goal for yourself and a schedule to achieve that goal. Know the route you’re going to take before running. You can plan it every week and change the route every week or two so you don’t get bored. However, you should still take the required precautions and keep your distance from others.

Cardio

If you’re not feeling safe going outside for a walk, consider doing cardio at home. Everything that raises your heart rate and your metabolism rate is considered a cardio exercise. There are many workouts that you can do at home that will give you the desired outcome, but you should figure out what you enjoy the most. Cardio is the best form of exercise as it strengthens your core, reduces chances of heart attacks and other diseases, reduces stress and depression, and burns calories.

It also helps you tone your body, lose fats, and gain muscles. Cardio can be an hour of dancing, regular workouts, or using a spin bike. You can purchase a spin bike to burn calories and strengthen your muscles while you’re at home.

However, if you want to spin at home, you should consider getting a high-quality spin bike so you can burn calories without any hassles. There are several machines that you can get for your cardio exercise but you have to ensure that you get one that fits your needs. If you’re not a fan of spin bikes or other machines, you can dance hip-hop, salsa, or any kind of dance you like for an hour as a cardio exercise. Listening to your favorite music and dancing to it will help tone your body and release your energy.

If you want regular cardio workouts, you can do planks, jumping jacks, jogging in place, and squat jumping. These workouts will help you lose unneeded fats and strengthen your core. There are endless exercises when it comes to cardio and you have to explore them to know what type of cardio you’re interested in. Search for apps or online videos that tell you how to do the exercise in a fun and easy way.

Muscle Strength

If you want to keep your body in shape or build muscles, then you should include muscle strength workouts in your routine. These workouts include planks, abs workouts, squats, push-ups, and lunges. Squats and lunges will help improve your core and lower body muscles.

You should focus on these two exercises if you want to target glutes, hamstrings, hip flexors, and calves. Push-up is perfect for your upper body as it targets your chest muscles, biceps, triceps, shoulders, and some of your back muscles. Planks are ideal for those who don’t have a lot of time to work out. When you do the plank properly, all of your body’s muscles are engaged. You can also include plank at the end of any exercise for better results.

The quarantine is causing a lot of stress for many people and it’s affecting their overall health. Staying at home for a long time is not good for everyone, and we should take care of our health, physically and mentally. Exercising is one of the most effective ways to improve our mental health, increase immunity, and lose unnecessary fats.

If you want to get in shape while you’re in quarantine, set a daily routine to exercise in any way you like, whether it’s cardio, muscle strength, yoga, or walking. However, before you choose a method to follow, know your goal and search for the best way to achieve it.
