I haven’t seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yet. Ok, truth time, I haven’t seen any of the Harry Potter movies. I know, it’s almost inhuman to say that. I promise you, I really do have a heartbeat. It’s just that there is so much marketing surrounding everything Harry Potter that I feel like I’ve already seen it. Why sit through the movie when I see glimpses of it everywhere I go?
I guess if I saw it, I might transform into a huge Harry Potter fan, but for right now, I’ll sit on the sidelines. Apparently Butterbeer is very popular in that movie. It caught my attention when I was reading about it because it sounds really delicious. Even though I’m not a die-hard Harry Potter fan, I’m definitely a fan of interesting and tasty drinks. According to Fox news, in the January 2002 issue of Bon Appetit magazine, J.K. Rowling was asked what Butterbeer tastes like. She said, “I made it up. I imagine it to taste a little bit like less sickly butterscotch.” In the Harry Potter books, Butterbeer seems to make people wooozy, so does that mean it has alcohol in it?
Although there are many Butterbeer recipes online, this one is special. It comes from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and it’s approved by J.K. Rowling herself so you know it’s the right one. You know what else? It has a cream soda base. Cream soda is one of my favorite sodas ever! Hmm… it almost makes me want to go see the movie, almost.
