Jedi Mind Tricks For Moms: 7 Ways To Put Your Baby To Sleep

I only have one child, and he’s 11-years-old, so I haven’t been a new mom for many years. I remember though what it was like to try to put him to sleep when he was fussy. Crying, cranky, sleepy babies can drive you insane (especially if they aren’t yours), and it would be nice if there was a way to make them fall asleep instantly, right? I’m about to show you 7 Jedi mind tricks that you can do on your baby to make him or her fall asleep instantly.

When I first watched this video, I couldn’t believe it. I had to watch it again. These moms are truly geniuses. Whether it’s the sound of a microwave, a staring contest, a smartphone or a pat in the right place, they have mastered skills that qualify them as Jedi moms. This video was produced by AVENT. They develop products inspired by nature and have been a leader in designing and manufacturing baby necessities since 1984.

The way they were able to put this video together is truly remarkable. First they interviewed hundreds of moms to find out what their tricks were. After they narrowed it down to a short list, they took a film crew to each baby’s house and as calmly and quietly as possible, they filmed the baby falling asleep. Sometimes they had to film this happening three times a day to get it just right. Even the song in the video is an original created just for this.

From a mother’s perspective, I can’t think of anything more comforting than knowing you can soothe your baby when he or she is uncomfortable and tired. If you are a new mom, I hope these tips will help you. I wish AVENT would do one of these videos for putting adults to sleep. I have trouble sleeping a lot, and I could definitely use some Jedi mind tricks for myself. #justsayin
