Best Times In Life To Start A Small Business [Infographic]

Have you been waiting for the perfect time in your life to start a small business? Maybe you’ve been waiting for the stars to align and the sky to open up and give you a sign that it’s time to become an entrepreneur. In my humble opinion, if you are waiting for the perfect time, it may not come. Life just kind of happens, and when your passion and inspiration are so strong that you can’t stop yourself from creating and working on your idea then you know it’s the right time. Normally, that happens at the most inconvenient and unpredictable moments in life though. That’s why it’s so important that when opportunity knocks, you answer the door. I am reminded of one of Oprah’s most famous quotes, “Luck is preparation meeting opportunity.”

Funders and Founders always seems to come up with the most spot-on charts and infographics about entrepreneurship. This time, they’ve created one called Finding Your Window of Opportunity which lists the best times in our lives to start a small business. The interesting thing here is that they’ve listed the times in life that you’d instinctively think were the worst times, and they’ve put an optimistic spin on it all to inspire anyone thinking about becoming an entrepreneur.

I really can’t argue with any of these points, and after reading this, you will probably agree that just about any time is the right time. My favorite ones on here are when you “just got sick” and “just got hired.” Brilliant! If you want to read more about this topic, click over to What It Takes To Become An Entrepreneur, which has another one of their thought-provoking charts. The bottom line is, if you want to start a small business, there is no better time than the present. It’s no fun to live with regrets, so let’s make every day count!
