Over the past few days, ever since the very sad death of Steve Jobs, many photographs of him in his younger years have surfaced. When I see those pictures of him, it reminds me that he, like every entrepreneur, had a journey to take to get to where he ultimately wanted to be. Steve Jobs looks very human when we see pictures of him taken back in the ’70s and ’80s. After seeing some pictures of other famous people in their early years, I’ve decided they all look very determined, in an inspiring kind of way.
You can almost see the dreams forming and the wheels turning in their eyes. You know that not only on the days these photos were taken, but in all their days to come, they would make a series of choices which led them down a path which eventually formed the image that we have of them in our minds. Whether it’s George Lucas and the early renditions of R2-D2, Amy Winehouse looking like an ordinary schoolgirl or Kurt Cobain looking like any other teenage boy practicing guitar, these are the celebrities before they were icons in our history.
