World’s Largest Coffee Cup Is A Dream For Any Coffee Addict

If you’re a coffee fanatic, when you wake up in the morning, I bet the first thing you think about is how much you need a fresh hot cup of coffee, correct? I know people who can’t even function if they don’t get their coffee in the morning. A lot of them keep a coffee cup as large as they can hold in their hands. Is there a limit to how much coffee you can drink before it becomes a hazard? Well, the people behind the world’s largest coffee cup certainly don’t think so.

It took a team from Gourmet Gift Baskets, back in 2010, over 8 hours to brew all the coffee to fill up the world’s largest coffee cup. The coffee cup itself stands 8 feet tall and requires 2,010 gallons of freshly brewed coffee in order to fill it up. The previous record was a mere 911.5 gallons of coffee, which this cup completely shatters. Not only that, but the people from Gourmet Gift Baskets also wanted to break the record for the world’s largest cup of iced coffee, so what did they do? Well, they poured in over 3,500 pounds of gigantic ice cubes as well of course.

The team brewing the coffee used several coffee machines in order to achieve the amount of coffee it took to fill this gigantic cup up to its full capacity. However, if you are a coffee addict, I wouldn’t go thinking that it would taste all that good since a couple of people from the team decided that taking a dip in this world’s largest coffee cup would be a great idea for a picture.

The previous record was set in 2007, and it didn’t even come close to what the people at Gourmet Gift Baskets were able to achieve. Jumping into this insanely big cup of iced coffee is probably best described by Madeleine MacGregor, who was one of the people that jumped into the cup knowing it was a ‘now or never’ experience.

It was a wild experience. Hopping into a frigid cup of iced coffee was one of the most exhilarating experiences, and a once in a lifetime opportunity.
