5 Traits A Blogger Must Have for Longevity!

When you contemplate starting a blog site, there are a lot of considerations that you need to factor in like content, design, which theme to use and what images to use. There are so many things that make up a writer’s to do list and sometimes when we get so overwhelmed with personal and work responsibilities, at one point in our day, we might ask ourselves, “Why am I doing this?”  There are occasions when no matter what you do, inspiration seems to allude you. But in the end, no matter what, if you are a true blue blogger at heart, you will push on.

There are 5 traits that I believe every blogger should have in order to become successful in the blogging world. No matter what your intentions for blogging are, there are still some characteristics that you must posses in order to forge on.

1. Creativity – Everyone is creative. You can be a creative designer, artist, singer, song writer, problem solver, etc… This trait is important for writers because as more and more blogs are created everyday, you need to be able to stand out from the rest.

2. Patience – Patience is a virtue. I believe that you must truly be patient. When our blogs don’t pick up right away and become popular, or when you do not get comments as often as you would like, just continue to press on, it will come. Make sure that you monitor each post and see what needs improvement.

3. Resourcefulness – A blogger must be resourceful. He or she must be able to turn what he sees or hears into a useful article. He or she must also know where and how he can get images and inspiration.

4. Genuinely Interested – The passion and the interest must come from within. Don’t do it because everyone is doing it. If you have that as your reason, then you won’t be able to sustain.

5. Be A Giver – It is one thing to just write and do your posts and say, “There, I’m done.” A blogger really needs to check his or her purpose for what they are doing. The most successful blogs that I have read and that I follow have one message and that is sharing and the true giving of information, whether it be business or personal themes, they always have their readers in mind. They genuinely care about what is helpful and relevant to them.
