A Hierarchy Of Social Communication: Know Your Tools [Infographic]

In a social media climate where new services are continuously poking at our attention, we need to know more than ever what it is we’re trying to achieve. If it is just to communicate, then there are several ways to do that, and to get the result you want. However, if you’re looking at it from a business perspective, then that is a whole different situation, and you need to look over the tools you are using in order to maximize the outcome of your engagement. There is a social network for everything, and you just have to know what each of the services is able to give you, and what you can come to expect from them.

Socialcast looked a little closer at how the hierarchy of our communication is laid out, and there is a lot you can learn by looking at the compiled results of their investigation. It is also important to know what your preferred medium is so you can really optimize your time and find the best social network that is the best fit for your medium of choice. Their infographic outlines the various social networks, how they share your engagement, and what you can expect from them.

Judging from this infographic, there are way more webinars and webcasts shared than I had anticipated, and also ratings and reviews are far more than I had expected. However, we should keep in mind that it’s businesses we’re talking about here, and not personal social networking habits. Basically it’s good if you know what you want to share and what your expectations are from the social networking services you intend to use. That will help you decide what social networks along with mediums you would want to go with, and as a result, speed up the process of building your online networking hub. It’s all about engaging, but the way you engage is entirely up to you. Choose wisely.
