A Tribute To All The Moms On Twitter

I’m watching some pretty major things change in my house, and since I share my life with you, I was inspired to write this article and dedicate it to all the moms on Twitter.

My son, @toad_mario, recently turned nine years old. We’ve always been the dynamic duo and done everything together. We understand each other and enjoy experiencing life together. He is my sunshine and my purpose, he is the reason why I work so hard and love so much.

But lately, our relationship is changing and evolving. As Henry is getting older, his hair is getting longer and he suddenly cares about what he wears to school. He is more interested in football and basketball than spending time with me, and his friends are taking my place as his closest pals.

It’s classic. He is growing up, and I am coming to terms with the fact that being a mother means having your heart broken. Motherhood is both the easiest and hardest job in the world. Like this touching video below explains, nurturing the good in this world is what a mother does, and it’s nothing short of a privilege.

I just hope that I’ve made the right decisions and taught Henry well, only time will tell as he continues to earn more responsibility and make more decisions about his life. The funny thing is, overall, I think I’ve learned a lot more about life from Henry than he has from me. He is at his friend’s house tonight (yes, even at nine years old, he makes plans for his Friday nights) and he just called me from his cell phone to tell me goodnight. I guess somewhere deep down inside of him, he still thinks of me. ;)

This poem below is my favorite poem about Moms. I dedicate this to all the Moms on Twitter. I laugh and enjoy our tweets about the funny things that happen during our experiences and I want you to know that I’m thankful for you and for all the positive energy you bring to the world. I believe that Moms are one of God’s greatest gifts to us all. And, of course, to my own Mom… I love you!

YOUR MOTHER IS ALWAYS WITH YOU…

Your mother is always with you…
She’s the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.

She’s the smell of bleach
in your freshly laundered socks.
She’s the cool hand on your brow
when you’re not well.

Your mother lives inside your laughter.
She’s crystallized in every tear drop.
She’s the place you came from,
your first home…
She’s the map you follow
with every step that you take.

She’s your first love
and your first heart break…
and nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, Not space…
Not even death…
will ever separate you
from your mother…
You carry her inside of you…
