A Tribute To The Perfect Twitter Breakfast

I live in the Southern part of the United States, and breakfast here is a big meal of the day. In case you are unfamiliar with this picture to the left, it’s a bowl of cheese grits. We love to eat grits in the South, but I don’t think I have ever tweeted that before.

It’s perplexing to me how many people in the world still think that the purpose of Twitter is to tweet what we ate for breakfast. I don’t know who originally came up with that idea, but now, a few years later, it’s become a joke to us Twitterholics.

When I saw this photography below, I instantly thought, “This would be the ultimate Twitter breakfast!” Like Twitter, these photographs of beautiful breakfasts are Internationally simple yet sophisticated, creative, interesting, clever, inspiring and unexpectedly fun. It sounds a lot like Twitter doesn’t it?

In my opinion, photographer Oliver Schwarzwald really outdid himself with these photos. This collection is called “International Breakfast” and it was created from typical breakfast foods from four countries: The UK, Russia, Sweden and France. There is also a fifth photograph in the collection which is an International breakfast featuring foods that can be found in many countries around the world.

These shots were originally taken to feature in the German magazine Feld Hommes and the photographer has already received many complaints from people saying that the people in Russia don’t really drink vodka with breakfast and the people in France don’t really smoke while they eat breakfast, etc… Accuracy in the details aside, these are breathtaking breakfast photographs. Maybe I should play along with the stereotype and tweet that while I take a twitpic of my grits.
