Custom Illustrated Star Wars Twitter Avatars & More

Everyone who has ever signed up for a Twitter account knows that finding the right avatar for your account is crucial to your success on this social networking service. It might not make or break your efforts to horde up followers; however, it has a pretty profound impact on the pace at which you will be able to connect with other people or brands. Usually you’d do best in just using an up to date photograph of yourself or your brand logo, and you will be set for at least a few months. There are some silent rules that say that you should always have an up to date profile picture, also called avatar, to make sure people will know who they are connecting with. But of course that is not a rule you have to live and die by.

I am pretty bad at keeping my own Twitter avatar up to date since it has become, according to some people, quite recognizable, which seems to be what people want. It’s important that people can find your tweets fast, and that is exactly why some people keep their avatars the same for a while. However, on my Facebook profile, I tend to switch it out every now and then and even add a few images also so that people know who they are connecting with.

But there is now an even more epic way to grace your Twitter account with an avatar. Flickr user and master illustrator Ape Lad put together what can only be described as the most awesome set of custom created Twitter avatars ever created. It is based on the default Twitter avatar which incorporates the Twitter logo. However, this particular set is all about Star Wars. The bird that has gotten the name Larry (if I am not entirely misinformed) has become legendary Star Wars characters and gadgets and should be able to put some much needed energy into your tweets. Now you can roll like the true Star Wars fan that you are. This is true creativity at its best! Ape Lad has been quite busy creating these badboys as there are several other Twitter avatars in the collection as well. If you want a superhero, Zelda character or even a Flintstone-based Twitter avatar, you can find it in there as well.
