MySocialPetwork: A Social Media Site That Is Like Facebook For Pets

Some people say pets are more popular than celebrities in social media. I don’t know if that’s true, but I did read an article last year that said one in ten pets has its own Facebook account. There are even some animals that are more popular than people on YouTube. I suppose it should come as no surprise that a new social networking site recently launched for pets. Yep, it’s like Facebook for pets. It’s called MySocialPetwork.

This isn’t the first time a ‘Facebook for pets’ site has launched. A while back Catmoji became a place for cats to hang out, but that seems more like just a site where cat lovers post pictures of their cats, which is very different. MySocialPetwork seems to be more focused on pets, instead of the owners who have the pets.

This ‘Facebook for pets’ website looks a bit like Pinterest, and once you sign up, you can add as many pets as you have so everyone can get in on the fun. You can pretty much do everything on MySocialPetwork that you can do on Facebook (share photos, follow other pets, send private messages to pets, post updates, etc.).

MySocialPetwork is also being used for a good cause. Apparently some organizations are posting pictures of pets that need new homes, and they are finding adoptive families on the site. So if you’re looking for a way to keep your pet entertained during the day while you’re at work, maybe you should introduce him or her to social media.

I guess it wasn’t enough to have Facebook for us. Now we apparently need it for our pets too. What will be next? I bet soon we’ll see a picture of a cat typing on a keyboard, updating his or her avatar. You may think that sounds ridiculous, but you’ll also think of me someday when you see that picture in your Twitter stream. Who knows, your kitty, dog, iguana, snake, hermit crab (or whatever pet you have) might just become the next Internet sensation.
