In September, Charity Water turned 3 years old. This story is so inspiring to me because so many of us have big aspirations of doing big things, but we never get started because we don’t think we have the time or the resources.
One thing I learned a few years ago when I started working regularly with the homeless in Atlanta is that we can make a big difference by doing small things also. It doesn’t always have to be big to have a big impact.
What the people at Charity Water have accomplished in three years is nothing short of a miracle. I believe there is definitely some divine intervention there. Wow. And to think, it all started with a birthday party. No money, no resources, just a birthday party.
This story brings tears of joy to my eyes. This touching story shows how the creative human spirit can shine so brightly when we follow our heart. If you dream of helping others, go for it! When that voice in your head says, “you can’t do that,” just tell that voice to be quiet. You can do it. Let your passion and your love be your guide.
According to Charity Water’s YouTube: “In just three years, we’ve raised more than $10 million through over 60,000 donors and helped more than 700,000 people in 16 countries get access to clean and safe drinking water. We’re just getting started.”
