To Vlog or not To Vlog?!

Everyone is entitled to the way he or she wants to express themselves.  Artists paints, sketch and design while writers blog.  Some people find it much more fun to vlog!  Yes vlog, or video blogging.

Video blogging, sometimes shortened to vlogging(pronounced v’LOG-ing or VEE-log-ing) or vidblogging is a form of blogging for which the medium is video and is a form of Internet television. Entries often combine embedded video or a video link with supporting text, images, and other metadata. Entries can be recorded in one take or cut into multiple parts.

Video logs (vlogs) also often take advantage of web syndication to allow for the distribution of video over the Internet using either the RSS or Atom syndication formats, for automatic aggregation and playback on mobile devices and personal computers.

Video blogging came about around 2005 and started with Yahoo and now the fastest growing and biggest video sharing site which also launched about that time as You Tube.  One needs to be very creative and should be able to articulate his or her words very well.  Imagine so many people will be watching you perform, either scripted or impromptu.

I remember doing my first live interview when I was still working as a producer for a sports TV show here in our country.  I needed to interview editors and sports columnists and man was I nervous.  I guess being in front of the camera and knowing people will watch what you will be saying or the questions that I was going to ask made butterflies flutter inside my stomach.  But after everything was done, I can say that it was fun.

If you are someone who is comfortable in front of the camera and you feel that you do have something wonderful to share to the world, then why not.  Let the camera roll and just share in the fun!

I think one of my favorite video bloggers is iJustine, she really has some fun stuff to share and she always has cool ideas to show her viewers.  Included a video here where she danced inside an apple store.  It was surely a treat watching her do her crazy dance.
