However, you might be confused about where to start in the big wide world of programming. Coding is a super complex field to get into and it can be tough to understand which languages to start learning first.

There is everything from Java to Python to Ruby that you could potentially pick up. But which one is best for you and what you’re looking to get out of in the coding world? That’s completely up to you! But down below, you’re going to find the top must-learn languages for those programmers who are just starting up in the field. 1. Java

If you’ve heard about Java already, then there’s good reason for that. Java is one of the world’s most prominent and most popular programming languages to start learning and to start coding with. Across every single operating device, platform, and applications on and off the Internet, you are going to find Java as one of the driving forces behind its development. One of the main reasons why Java is such a popular language is the fact that you can transfer it from pretty much any device or platform and it will still work the same.

The only thing you have to think about when you’re thinking about learning Java is the fact that it’s quite difficult to learn, even though it has such a great portability and usability.  You are going to have to do some serious learning if you want to use Java as your main programming language. However, there are tons of tutorials online that will help you learn this popular coding language and get to coding with it ASAP!

2. Python

Next up, we have one of those languages that are super easy to learn and that you can pick up super quickly – Python. No matter what you’re using the platform for, it’s always going to be open-source and free for anybody to use, which is why it’s so popular and easy to pick up. You are going to be able to pick up the platform and start coding without having to pay any insane fees or sign any papers.

Using the platform of Python is going to allow you to get the basics down. The platform is going to teach you some useful information that will help you get started with coding as fast as possible. In fact, there are plenty of learning tools available in the Python community that can help you get a grasp on the language as soon as you can.

3. Ruby

One of the coolest facts about Ruby is that it’s relatively new to the field of programming, especially as it’s one of the most popular languages out there. It’s only been around since the 90s! It was designed as a way for novice programmers to get started with programming without having to deal with learning tons of vocabulary and commands that you might have to learn in order to operate other programming languages.

One of the best parts about Ruby is the fact that it’s super easy to learn. There’s even a little 20-minute video on the website of the platform that’s going to give the basics for getting started! That means that it’s super accessible to anyone who wants to start programming with Ruby. You will find plenty of similarities to Python, the language that we discussed earlier. So, if you’re a fan of that language or similar easy-to-learn languages, then Ruby is going to be right up your alley.

4. C or C++

Both of these languages have been around for quite a long time. C is the more basic version and C++ is the more advanced version of this coding language. They were both developed in the 1970s and 1980s. C is one of the most fundamental coding languages in the world of programming and for that reason is one of the imperatives that you’ve got to learn. If you want to take it a step further and learn even more advanced techniques, then C++ is definitely the way to go.

However, if you are a novice in the field (which you probably are), then you should check out C as a language to learn. Even if you never end up using C or C++, you are definitely going to learn from them. Most programmers have picked up the fundamentals of a lot of the languages from these two. You too are going to learn the fundamentals of all languages by learning either of tgese languages.

5. JavaScript

Lastly, we have got to talk about one of the most popular languages out there – JavaScript. Now, this one is quite different from the first item on this list – Java – so be sure to make that distinction before moving forward. The Internet that we know and love is very much based on the application of JavaScript. You are going to have plenty of flexibility when you’re designing a website or other applications with the basis of JavaScript.

Did you know that JavaScript is already right there in your browser? That’s right, you can go ahead and learn JavaScript by just pulling it up on Google Chrome or any other browser. Even though this programming language has definitely been around for quite a bit, it’s becoming more and more popular among programmers and in the programming world. If you’re wanting to jump right in with an easy-to-learn language, then this is definitely one for you to consider.

There you have it! When you’re wanting to start programming, then these are the languages that you’ve got to pick up. Start with one of the more easy-to-learn languages and then you can feel free to work your way up to the more advanced languages.
