When it comes to technology, we are impatient. There have been several studies that have come to this conclusion. I even wrote about one a while back that determined computer stress is harder to deal with than relationship stress. Whether our Internet connection goes down, our laptop forces us to restart, our smartphone battery runs out when we need it most, or any other techie annoyance, we don’t like it. We want stuff to work all the time, period. Is that too much to expect? I guess that depends on who you ask.

Let’s just take our smartphone battery as an example. Yesterday I wrote about a smartphone charger that is about the size of a quarter and fits on a key ring. It’s a Kickstarter campaign that was seeking $20,000 in funding. With two weeks left in the campaign, they’ve raised over $60,000. To me, that’s proof that we are looking for solutions to ease the stress of our batteries running out at the most inconvenient times.

What you may not realize is that there are some simple things you can do to extend the life of your smartphone battery, and I’m not just talking about the obvious stuff. There are things running on your phone each day that are probably not important to you, and if you just turn those features off, you can extend your smartphone battery life by a few hours. To me, that’s definitely worth checking out.
