A Working Bugatti Veyron Built With Cigarette Packs

Wow, cigarettes have a lot of uses aside from smoking, don’t they? A few months ago, I wrote about a fabulous installation built from 219,000 cigarettes. It was quite a sight. If you missed that, you can check it out here.

Today, I’m writing about a Bugatti Veyron built from 10,280 empty packs of cigarettes. The frame, engine, brakes and gearbox are “real,” so the car is functional, but the entire rest of the car is created from cigarette packs that five Chinese students (roommates) collected with the help of their fellow students at Xi’an Electrical Mechanical University.

It took them eight months to build this car, and they finished just in time for World No Tobacco Day, which was on May 31st. This car can even support passengers! China accounts for a third of the total number of people in the world who smoke. This one-of-a-kind electric car gets an A+ from me! (These low-res pics are all that are available, but you get the idea!)
