Former Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova presented a prototype dress to reporters that is designed to light up when the wearer’s mobile telephone rings. British fashion student Georgie Davies is working with Sony Ericsson in designing dresses that will activate the dress when the wearer’s phone rings. The reason for the design? In places where music is played volume up and speakers blasting, its really very hard to hear your phone ring or even if you place it in vibra mode, when the phone is in your bag, you might miss an important call.
Sharapova showed off the dress to a gaggle of photographers and a crowd of passers-by from the window of a luxury department store in central London. Here is where fashion and technology meet.
