For when you get lost… in a building?

GPS on phones isn’t breaking news anymore, but Nokia are looking at taking it to a “new level” with building based WiFi GPS.

It will let you see if there are any of your friends near by or what shops are around in relation to where you are.

Have Nokia been a little slow with this already?  Is this kind of tech a little pointless? I see things like brightkite.com and irlconnect.com and think maybe they missed the boat on this one.  Check out their presentation:
