Guy Builds Incredible Iron Man-Based Gesture Controlled Hologram

Just a couple days ago, Elon Musk tweeted that he had somewhat recreated the Iron Man Jarvis interface. He also said he and his team created a rocket through gesture controls which was then 3D printed in titanium. Elon went on to say that he was going to post a video of the whole thing sometime next week. That hasn’t happened yet, so I wanted to see if anyone else might have had a stab at a gesture controlled hologram interface that could rival even the most science fiction-like interfaces.

I have to admit that I love this kind of stuff, and to my surprise, you don’t have to have a few billion dollars to your name in order to live a life innovating science fiction. Robbie Tilton made that perfectly clear as he demonstrated his experiments and research in front of a room with about 100 listeners all eager to know what the future has to offer. The gesture controlled interfaces that Robbie demonstrated are not only impressive, but they add optimism to the fact that we might actually be able to wield movie-like user interfaces in a future not too far from now.

What makes Robbie’s keynote so mesmerizing is that he manages to take us on a ride that could rival even the first Iron Man movie. He goes on to demonstrate the positive and the negative sides of gesture controlled user interfaces. Combined, they make for an interface that even Elon Musk would be quite envious of. If anything, Elon Musk should give this dude a call and put a few million bucks in his pocket to drum up even more impressive stuff – stuff that would even make Tony Stark’s innovations look dumb and unoptimized.

But the day when we will wield the gesture controlled hologram user interfaces is not yet here, and who knows what the most optimized approach will be, right? With people like Elon Musk and Robbie Tilton in the world, the future looks bright. There is also something else you can take with you from this article, and that is that you don’t have to be a billionaire in order to innovate the future. All you need is imagination, creativity and a whole lot of skills.
