Earlier this month, Gorilla Technology, a global provider of video intelligence and IoT technology, announced a partnership with VMS provider Airship. It is the first US-based partner for the Asia-based company, which counts major players such as the Taipei International Airport in Taiwan, Maps in Indonesia, Telstra in Australia, TVB in Hong Kong, SBC in Saudi Arabia, the National Geographic International Channel and the Fox International Channel in Bulgaria among its global customer base.
Gorilla is a privately held company. Established in 2000, it develops a wide range of video-centric and content management applications including smart retail, smart school, smart enterprise, smart surveillance and broadcast media. Its Video IoT Platform provides innovative solutions across business verticals with AI-based technology that unlocks the value of video insights and IoT data.
Through its partnership with Airship, Gorilla now offers integrated Intelligent Video Analytics Recorder (IVAR) and Video Management Solutions (VMS) solutions for smart video surveillance and asset protection for US-based customers in the commercial, retail and residential property sectors. With the IoT market expected to grow to an installed base of 75.4 billion by 2025, these are expected to be the fastest growing applications of video analytics within the market and among the largest drivers of IoT growth in the next 10 years.
“Increased market demand for video analytics makes our partnership with Airship particularly timely,” said Dr. Spincer Koh, CEO of Gorilla Technology. “Gorilla’s proven track record has enabled our customers to realize radical improvements in safety, as well as optimize facilities and workflows for enhanced efficiencies and security. These strengths make our Intelligent Video Analytics Recorder an ideal companion solution for video management and video surveillance systems.”
Three key challenges long facing smart video surveillance and asset protection systems are the acquisition of information at multiple scales, interpreting the automatic analysis of data to detect events of interest and identify trends, and how to use these techniques to build large-scale deployable systems. The partnership between Gorilla and Airship will enable customers to quickly resolve these issues while giving Gorilla the ability to deliver on the needs of the rapidly growing video IoT market and meet the demands of customers in the US market.
Gorilla’s Airship partnership is just the beginning, Gorilla plans to secure more partnerships in the US market across VMS, NVR (Network Video Recorder, devices vendors and cloud service providers in the coming months.
