IllumiRoom Makes Your Entire Room Your Gaming Screen

Gamers are always looking for the ultimate gaming experience. Whether that is the game itself or the accessories used to immerse the player into the game is of course a personal preference. When it comes to accessories that are created to put ourselves in the center of the game, so far virtual reality has been the only way to do so. The progress within virtual reality has been anything but impressive, if I may humbly say so myself. However, as of late, there are a few projects that could possibly change all that. But what about now? Is there anything available that might inject us into a more realistic gaming experience? As a mater of fact, there is, and it comes from the brilliant minds over at Microsoft. It’s called IllumiRoom, and it will make your entire room your gaming screen.

When it comes to gaming experience, Microsoft has been putting out quite a few successful gadgets lately, with the Kinect being the most successful one. But this IllumiRoom gadget might create an even more immersive gaming experience. The fact that you can make your whole room your gaming screen is something I think anyone would like to do. It could possibly take gaming to a whole new level. However, making the entire room your gaming screen doesn’t come without disadvantages. For people suffering from motion sickness, it could spell disaster.

However, for people who are looking for a more immersive gaming experience, the IllumiRoom gadget could definitely take things to a new level. The gadget itself will scan your room and create a whole row of different effects. For example, one of them will make your new room-covering gaming screen shake to further enhance the gaming experience. Have a look at this quite impressive demo of the IllumiRoom and be amazed. If gaming is ever going to be more immersive than virtual reality, this is definitely a step in the right direction. There’s no bulky gaming screen helmets and no cords dangling from your head area that keep you from moving freely. Combine this with the Kinect, and you should have one of the coolest gaming experiences yet.
