How the idea came up? In the early months of 2008 Marcos wondered why people couldn’t add text, videos or any other kind of content onto an already existing webpage. In the real world anyone can write or draw on a sheet of paper. Why doesn’t the web allow that same kind of functionality? Shouldn’t people be able to use it in the same way? That was when the idea was born. Enable anyone to add content to an already existing webpage by creating a layer on top.
What motivates us? At Layers we believe that people should have the opportunity to unleash their talent. To build, add, and share their ideas and emotions, wherever and with whoever they want. It’s that simple.
We believe that “Together we can do it better”. Layers is a project open to innovative ideas no matter where they come from. Layers wants to build a community of developers and creators around it that builds new tools which can be used on top of any website.
