Is This The World’s Most Elaborate Concept Presentation?

Alright, I have seen my share of concept designs and presentations, and it always impresses me when someone has put their heart and soul into a project. It doesn’t really matter what the concept is all about. When you see that the same amount of time has been spent on the presentation as the refinement of the concept product itself, then you know that the creator/developer is really passionate about what he or she does. It’s extra impressive when you see something that has a slim chance of becoming a real product, and yet, the presentation looks like it was the grand opening or the release party presentation of a new product.

If I have ever been impressed about a concept design before, then I don’t know what to call this emotion I have now. When I first saw the concept itself, I was only moderately impressed. This wasn’t because it was bad, but just because I have seen a ton of concept cars being presented on paper and in rendered concept photographs. However, I was in for something way more impressive. This time it wasn’t only a paper presentation, it was actually a video as well. And what a video.

Jamie Martin, the creator/designer of this Super Hatchback called “Devolution” must have been paying attention in class way more than anyone else. The graphics this dude generates are in a league of their own. Yeah, I know what you are going to say, but the fact is that this goes far beyond any other concept video I have ever seen. The fact that this guy did it all on his own is just mind boggling, and quite frankly, I have a hard time understanding where he got the time. It’s quite apparent that this must have taken quite a while to put together. Just have a look at the video and you’ll understand what I am talking about. I wonder why movie companies pay hundreds of millions of dollars on special effects when they can just pay Jamie for the job. It would probably be a lot cheaper and faster also. Props!
