Liquid Watch Turns Wrist Watches Into Futuristic Time Pods

We are all still waiting for the first flexible smartphone to make its way onto the market. It’s yet to be determined which company will be first to introduce it to consumers. Sure, we have seen plenty of prototypes in the past couple of years, but nothing has yet made it into the stores. As gadgets get more advanced, the visual aspect of them is changing dramatically. That can definitely be said about a new liquid watch recently presented by Ressence.

Wrist watches have pretty much been the same for ages. It’s not until recently that wrist watch developers and manufacturers have started to innovate around a more futuristic axis. The liquid watch from Ressence, dubbed Type 3, is a prototype watch that has a whole lot of new features incorporated into it. The first thing that strikes me is the lack of anything that we could possibly use to interact with the watch, such as knobs etc. This might be a little bit confusing at first, but once you start messing around with this liquid watch, you will realize that it uses a whole different kind of system to interact with it.

The liquid watch actually uses a gravitational gearing system that allows you to rotate and pivot the watch in order to interact with it. Furthermore, the watch looks to use some kind of curved screen, but that is actually wrong. It uses a dome shaped container filled with a refractive liquid that makes the information look like it’s presented directly under the protective surface.

This watch has two sides to it, which makes it even more intriguing. However, this liquid watch isn’t for the cheap since it is said to retail for around $29,500 when it’s finally introduced. It’s a price that rivals a medium sized car. But then again, if you want to flaunt the best, you have to put up the money for it I guess. The visual attraction of the liquid watch also adds to the appeal, no matter what the price is.
