Microsoft Releases Star Wars Themed XBox 360 Console

With Star Wars fans on the rise and the Internet seemingly buzzing with Star Wars fan creations, it was only a matter of time before some of the multinational companies started paying attention to the excitement. We’ve talked about fan created awesomeness so many times, and even though we’ve seen some companies jump on the bandwagon, they usually only pay attention during re-releases of the Star Wars movies or when some additional movies are being announced. However, this time it’s kind of different. This time it’s just because there are so many Star Wars fans that one of the most successful corporations in the world announced they are creating a product just for Star Wars fans around the world.

You might have heard about it, but Microsoft is releasing a Star Wars themed XBox 360 Kinect package with some rather awesome looks and features. It’s along with the Star Wars themed Kinect that Microsoft thought pimping out the entire XBox 360 with the Star Wars look would be a good idea. I am prepared to agree because the look of it is just amazing. To get started, the controllers are shiny gold with elements taken from C-3PO. As you can see from the image, it’s really awesome, and it is cordless. That’s just everything a gamer could ever want, right?

Well, they are not stopping there. The casing for the XBox 360 itself of course has the features and look of R2-D2 that we all love. I am not sure if we will be getting the small R2-D2 robot along with the XBox console when purchasing this awesome package, but I could really live without it if I didn’t get it. The look of the console and the controllers are enough for me. Now this is a package that I could purchase just because it is so damn sexy! I love stuff like this, and I am sure this one will be a future Millennium Falcon collectors item, so we better buy two. Then we will have one to play and one to keep in its original box for later evaluation. The whole package will sell for $449.99.
