Mood Light iPhone Cage Turns Your Attention To The Real World

I see signs that say “no mobile devices allowed” more and more frequently these days. Maybe it’s a way to make sure the digital age does not take over our lives entirely. With all the stress that comes from constantly being online, maybe we need some regulations in certain areas where we should be unreachable. Or, maybe we just a need a few more of these new “inventions” that will cage our smartphones and bring a bit of mood light into our hectic lives.

The mood light is actually an invention to secure our privacy. I can’t tell you how many times my friends have asked me why I don’t answer my cell phone sometimes when it rings. They argue that I should. My humble opinion about the matter is that just because I have a mobile device, it doesn’t mean I want to be constantly reached. Life is about more than just being “available” all the time. Anyone who knows me knows that I am dedicated (on the border of stupidity) when it comes to the things I undertake. However, when it comes to being available, I think everyone needs a bit of regulating. The mood light could very well be that little thing that makes perfect sense.

So far this mood light is just for the iPhone, but I am sure the creator, Singaporean designer Zying Chai, would be willing to make some adjustments to make it available for other smartphones as well when and if it is ever realized. All you really need to do is put your iPhone into the mood light (really called “My Faraday”), and you will be able to enjoy the non-virtual world for a while without interruptions. This iPhone cage is soundproof, so regardless if you are being pinged for attention, you will still not be able to see or hear it. The fact that it works like a mood light is just another plus that makes your relaxing environment around you even more enjoyable. It can even create patterns if your family or friends decide to disconnect for a while. Just put them all on the dining room table and enjoy the colorful display of relaxation.
