Never Before Seen Images Of Google’s Data Centers

Kids today are so used to the Internet that I’m sure some of them think it lives in their computer. The intricacies of the Internet itself are far more complex than they were 10 years ago. Today we have servers that are supposed to handle ever faster Internet connections, and of course all the people who hog the bandwidth to them. Even for the most seasoned Internet user, the advanced technology behind it all may seem daunting to say the least. There have been so many people who’ve wanted to know what Google’s server park looks like through the years that you might have thought Google would have shared some pictures earlier. But no, only recently have there been some never before seen images of Google’s data center published to the world.

When you look at these never before seen images, you are struck with one initial thing, and that is the insane level of organization. It’s mind boggling how many servers Google uses in order to keep us all satisfied with the search speed. That’s not even mentioning the insane amount of cooling infrastructure that is needed to cool their entire server park. To an outsider, this may very well look like chaos, but for a Google technician, this is as much organization as is humanly possibly working with such a volume of top level technology.

You got to love the way they have incorporated the Google logo colors into their way of organizing the cooling tubing in their facilities. I guess next time you use Google to search for something, you might remember these images and wonder about the amount of technical skills and hardware it takes to serve you those search results. These never before seen images of Google’s server park will definitely be stuck in my mind for a long time. When a company shares their never before seen images, and when they are as epic as these, that’s when you truly know the Internet is one of the most intricate technology creations that humans have ever put together.
