Never Fear A Corner Again | Bump Guard

I have one of those stories to tell you that just doesn’t happen in the real world. I was on my way home from school, on my bike, and was quite stressed as I wanted to get back to work on the computer. I don’t really remember what I was doing, but as with anything, at that age it was super important. I took a short cut through some narrow apartment alley when I suddenly came around a corner at what seemed to be the speed of light. What followed was nothing less of a majestic crash where the guy I crashed into flew into a wall and I landed in the thick bushes almost straight ahead. The once in a lifetime accident wasn’t really the funny part. It was the fact that the person I ran into was one of my best friends who was on his way to his swimming practice. What are the odds of that happening?

Maybe it was that accident that made me interested to see what this whole “Bump Guard” was all about. It certainly triggered that useless inventions knowledge button. It’s an invention called “Corner’s Communication Warning Sign” and is one of those things that you wouldn’t think anyone would bother spending time figuring out, but someone did.

It’s quite a simple little piece of technology and it serves its purpose well. You simply stick it on a street corner and it will tell someone on the opposite corner of the street if someone is heading your way around the corner and vice versa. This will eliminate any bumping action for sure and possibly also the scare factor involved when turning around a corner. You can now humbly and relaxingly turn that corner and greet the oncoming stranger with a smile. Problem solved.
