Old School Rotary Phone Becomes Today’s Twitter Client

I think many of us are using different Twitter clients than the ones Twitter makes available on their site or through their apps. For those who don’t know what “client” is, it is the software that you use in order to send and read tweets, etc. It’s the program that you log into and use with Twitter so to speak. There are quite a few out there, and they are all popular. I have been switching them out periodically since some features have died or are just bugged. It seems that when you are following a large number of people, even Twitter itself starts to bug out on you. This means that direct messages, tweets and all kinds of stuff sometimes don’t come through to you. It is quite an issue for a lot of people.

However, if you are not following that many people, and if Twitter isn’t your main focus of the day, you might be in the mindset of trying out some new gear that might make your Twitter experience a little more… well, let’s say unique. A couple of technology geek companies in the Ukraine decided that retro was the way to go, and they endeavored into new territory with their rotary phone Twitter client build called Tweephone.

For the people who have a lot of time on their hands and are not in a hurry, this little Twitter accessory is the perfect fit. It’s an old school phone that tweets your status updates with the help of the phone’s rotary dial. Of course, there are more letters than numbers on the rotary dial, so tweeting a tweet of up to 140 characters can take quite a long time since you sometimes have to turn the dial 2-3 times in order to get the right character. Have a look at their official Twitter page to get the full scope of this quite geeky gadget! It’s like your own batphone but in the year 2011. Will they come in red? That’s the big question now!
