For all of you out there that are awaiting the new era of auto technology and dream of a more information streaming approach to the skiing experience, I think I have found something that is right up your alley. I keep thinking that we are already blasted with information while skiing (I am a beginner) and keep wondering if this will further occupy our attention. However, this gadget is there to help rather then further cloud our judgment. As a matter of fact, it’s more of an extension of your brain and eyes really.
Recon Instruments, premiere creators of all things awesome, have developed a new pair of goggles that will make your reality go poof. This set of goggles is suited for the ultimate skier and will most definitely bring a new level of awesomeness to the slopes. So what can these wonder goggles do?
Well, for starters they will bring you feedback about speed, latitude/longitude, altitude, vertical distance traveled, total distance traveled, chrono/stopwatch mode, a run-counter, and temperature/time. Transcend has GPS capabilities, USB charging and data transfer. As if that wasn’t enough (oh lord), Recon has opted that we all will most probably soon be able to use their API to create our own apps to sell and share in their app store. So next time you’re visiting the slopes, be sure to get a pair of these cause it’s time to bring up the bionic level a few notches. They sell for $539, and they are sure to impress everyone that comes in the vicinity of them. Props!
