UrbanDesk Makes Small Living The Ultimate Geek Lifestyle

Have you ever been annoyed by the small apartment you have, yet you don’t have the means to upgrade it to a bigger one at the moment? Well, if you have, you know the second thing you think about is how to make the most out of the small space that is available to you. If you think you are the only who is struggling to make every inch count, you should know you are not alone. More and more people are finding themselves in an apartment or house with walls that are creeping in on them as they grow as a family. Students in particular have always been faced with this annoyance, and some have taken it upon themselves to solve their small living problems with the help of innovation.

For Graham Phakos, the small living space became “too much,” and he decided to take the matter into his own hands. He started thinking that maybe if he thought a little more creatively, he could actually help others who were in the same situation as him. One thing led to another, and soon he had a fully working prototype of the UrbanDesk on his hands. It is a cleverly designed and manufactured bed and work desk all rolled into one.

Small living has always had its challenges, but Graham created something that will surely make a lot of people really excited. This UrbanDesk is perfect for a small living bedroom where space is sparse. All you need to do is push up the bed vertically towards the wall, and your desk will be revealed to you at the same time. You never have to clean your desk in order to go from working to sleeping either. With a clearance space of over 8 inches, the stuff put on your desk will stay put even though it’s time to go to bed. All you need to do is pivot the bed back down and go to sleep. This insanely genius innovation is currently looking for funding through Kickstarter. You can get your very own UrbanDesk for your small living space by pledging $700 to the project. Projects like these have always had a special place here on Bit Rebels, and we happily feature every single one of them. Great idea, Graham!
