The Complete Android History Timeline [Infographic]

I can’t say that I am very knowledgeable when it comes to the Android market or the things around it like the operating system and the application development community. I have looked at it and tried the phone out a couple of times, yes, but that’s about it. Pretty much all I have learned about the Android phone (yeah I haven’t spent much thought on it really) I have picked up from one of my co-workers here at Bit Rebels. Diana is a previous Android user; however, she switched to an iPhone not too long ago.

The switch seems to have made her a little more creative and her ways of communicating have actually increased. I am sure it has nothing to do with the way the iPhone works or the 3G connection that I am sure Android uses as well. No, I think it has to do with the way she continuously find new and inspiring apps and solutions to manage her time.

Many people may not know it, but Android, Inc. was founded in Palo Alto in October 2003, and in its 8 years of existence, they have managed to amass quite a community. Just like the iOS for the iPhone, the Android operation system is continuously being updated. They are keeping up with the iOS quite well, and through the years there have been 9 upgrades to the operating system (which all bear a unique name to tell them apart).

For people who are dedicated to the Android phone, [x]Cube Labs created a really nice historic timeline infographic that will take you through the years of the Android phone’s operating system releases along with some other Android milestones. I wish I could do an extensive comparison myself with an Android phone and an iPhone to see which operating system I like the most. I am more knowledgeable about the iPhone as you might expect, so I hope to one day extend my knowledge when it comes to the Android phone since I have heard a lot of good things about it and would like to check it out more for myself.
