Why Refael Edry, Eyal Edry, And Moshe Edree Are The Role Models Every Business Owner Needs

What motivated you to start your business? Of course, the answer to that question is subjective. While some entrepreneurs set out to change the world, others take inspiration from the journey of established business leaders. And then there are people who turn their lives into a goldmine of opportunities by overcoming every challenge.

Rafi Edry and his younger brothers, Eyal Edry and Moshe Edree, are accomplished businessmen from Israel. They run several businesses in Africa and are globally known for their entrepreneurial achievements. But that isn’t what makes them the perfect role models for aspiring business owners.

Instead, their tumultuous lives, filled with obstacles and setbacks, make them the unlikely heroes that entrepreneur needs.

Rising After Every Fall

Eyal Edry’s world turned upside down when he was seventeen years old. His family was under financial distress, and he had to start working to make ends meet. His dreams of pursuing higher education and getting a college degree got pushed to the backburner. Refael Edry and Moshe Edree shared a similar plight.

But that didn’t stop the three brothers from turning their lives around. Eyal Edry enlisted in the IDF and was determined to become a paratrooper. But a near-fatal accident left him with a spinal injury.

Instead of writhing in self-pity, Eyal Edry took control of his life. He went to college, earned a degree in psychology, and worked with his brothers to build several successful businesses.

Today, Eyal Edry, Moshe Edree, and Refael Edry are accomplished entrepreneurs with various companies in Africa.

Their journey is a stellar example of how you can use courage and determination to turn the course of your life. But that isn’t the only way they’re inspiring new entrepreneurs.

Uplifting The Community

Refael Edry, Eyal Edry, and Moshe Edree believe that professional achievements and accolades don’t define a successful life. Instead, their willingness to stay true to their roots and help the community makes them successful.

That’s why they launched the Ahinoam Association for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities in 2018. Their vision is to bridge the social disparities between Israel’s periphery and socioeconomic center. They want to ensure that no child has to give up their dreams of building a better life due to the absence of opportunities and resources.

The Edry brothers’ earnestness to help underprivileged children highlights their humility. It’s one of the most essential traits you must imbibe to build a successful business. The key is to remember where you belonged and how far you’ve come, even when you reach the zenith of your entrepreneurial journey.

A Flair For Problem Spotting

The Ahinoam Association has implemented various programs to support children and at-risk youth in the Israeli periphery. But when pandemic-driven restrictions forced schools to start online classes, the Edry brothers realized that thousands of students in Israel didn’t have personal computers.

Coming from low-income households, most of these children couldn’t afford to buy computers or smartphones in the blink of an eye.

Instead of waiting for help from the Israeli government, Refael Edry and his brothers started a fundraising campaign. They collected funds from the public and distributed computers to more than 30,000 students.

Their eye for anticipating a significant problem ensured that things didn’t spiral out of control. Instead, these children continued to attend online classes and stay connected with their peers.

It’s the kind of proactiveness that helps the best entrepreneurs stay ahead of the curve. Look beyond your problem-solving skills to develop a knack for identifying problems before they turn catastrophic. It’ll help you implement corrective measures at the right time.

A Lesson In Resilience

Eyal Edry, Moshe Edree, and Refael Edry may not be the first names that come to your mind when you think about business role models. But their journey of defeating every odd and working harder after every milestone is just the inspiration every business owner needs.

If you’re planning to kickstart your entrepreneurial journey, make sure you imbibe humility, persistence, and determination. Also, embrace a forward-thinking mindset with a knack for predicting problems at the earliest.
