With the passing of Les Paul, Rock ‘n Roll’s legend and creator of the Les Paul brand of Gibson guitars, I want to share the colorful side of Paul’s famous guitars. We have a well kept secret here in Seattle, a Gibson studio, tucked away in the Pioneer Square neighborhood, south of downtown. The studio is generally not open to the public, however I got to take a tour a few months ago, during a Thursday art walk. The walls are filled with colorful guitars, pictures of famous bands, musicians and paintings. While chatting with some of the artists, I crossed paths with the PR Manager, who showed me a fabulous magazine, showcasing the famous Les Paul Guitars as public art in Austin and London. Here are some of my favorite.
