I could really go for some Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies today. According to GirlScoutCookies.org, they go on sale here in Atlanta in 58 days, 10 hours, 49 minutes and 35 seconds. Hmm… That’s good to know, but what will I do in the meantime? I think I have the solution. I just found out that Lip Smackers recently introduced a line of officially licensed Girl Scout Cookie lip balm.
This delicious set of five lip smacking good flavors comes in Chocolate Peanut Butter (Tagalongs), Peanut Butter (Do-Si-Dos), Thin Mints, Trefoils and Coconut Caramel Stripes (Samoas). Apparently it’s an ultra-moisturizing lip formula, but I don’t care about that. I mean, they taste and smell like Girl Scout Cookies, that’s all I need to know.
Although the sales of Girl Scout Cookies typically bring in around $700 million dollars each year, 2011 was a rough year for those cute smiley cookie sellers. Rumor has it that this year we’ll see some flavors discontinued, some smaller cookie sizes, and fewer cookies per box. If you would prefer to bake your own Girl Scout cookies, I found an “almost just like the real thing” recipe for Trefoils and Samoas. The best part of these lip balms is that they have zero calories and carbs! You can find them now at Walmart and Claire’s. The whole set is only 5 bucks. In 2012, they will also release the liquid lip gloss version. Nom nom!
