This little homage to everyone’s favorite classic 80s video game is so precious I just want to make my own this weekend. If you weren’t around in the 80s saving your quarters to play Pac-Man at the pizza joint on Friday nights like the rest of us, you could make one of these for Mario Bros. or really any of your own favorite games.
I get so tired of the same-old-same-old calendars that are in the stores these days. I can’t even bring myself to hang a paper calendar on the wall with a thumbtack anymore. It’s just so… well, boring. Instructables member ChrysN, must have felt the same way because she created this little nugget of retro goodness, and I can’t get enough of it.
To get the full effect, you have to watch the little video below. The music will take you right back to 1987. According to the directions on Instructables, “The dots are numbered with the dates. Ghosts, fruit and power pellets can be used to mark special occasions.” To go to the next level… err… next month, you just reset the dots. This is so cute and surprisingly doesn’t look that hard to make. I can’t think of a better geeky weekend project! Waka Waka Waka
