Whoa! These incredible flower sculptures are made with discarded spray paint can lids. What a truly artistic and beautiful way to recycle, but there is more to this than what you might think. This is a project by CanLove, which is a graffiti recycling program.
The people there are committed to collecting old spray paint cans that graffiti artists leave behind. They don’t just collect the cans though; they transform them into extraordinary works of art. These flower vases are just one of many examples. You can click over to their site to see more. There are several jaw-dropping designs over there, and they are all made from recycled cans.
According to Hillary Coe, who has been a part of the organization since the beginning, “Each step of the process, from extracting paint to opening and disassembling the can, lends itself to a new form of art.” This is just yet another example of how one person’s trash can become another person’s treasure. You can purchase one of these unique bouquets on the CanLove website if you are interested in donating to this organization. As of today, they’ve recycled 12,780 spray paint cans. All I can say is wow!
