A lot of people I know are interested in creative photography, and after what I’ve learned about photography over the past few years, I can understand why. There are truly limitless possibilities for how a photographer can capture a special effect or perspective in a photograph. It’s mind blowing really.
My favorite photography effects are those that make us question how we perceive our own reality. When photographs can actually play tricks on our eyes, which confuses our brains and creates an illusion, well, that’s when things get interesting. It’s a little like looking at a spec of dust and wondering if there could be a whole world living inside it that we just can’t see.
Photographer Ira Fox created this effect in his own way when he created his Reflections collection. He took these somewhat twisted and upside-down looking photos by taking pictures of the mirrored images that appear in a puddle of rain. All of the components of these photographs including the water, the light, the land, the people, and the grit and dirt mixed in it all on a rainy day combine to form this dreamy, creative, and very interesting collection.
