World Record Set: Mural Created With One Million Coffee Beans

If you are one of those people who has trouble understanding the difference between a Cappuccino, Americano, Mochaccino, Au Lait, Latte, Espresso and a Macchiato, I have good news for you. I found the most useful little graphic which illustrates it all quickly and easily, and I put it at the bottom of this article. It will teach you the differences between those coffees in about ten seconds.

Back to what this article is really about… There seems like there is a world record for everything, right? A few days ago, a new world record was set for the largest coffee bean mural. This monstrosity of a mosaic, which weighs 397 pounds and measures 30 square meters, was created with ONE MILLION coffee beans. Holy crap! I wonder how many Caramel Macchiatos could be made with that many beans. I wonder if I could drink that much coffee in my lifetime. Coffee is expensive, and I want to know how much it cost to make this.

This was all done by Russian artist Arkady Kim and his five assistants. Since they built this by hand, it took twelve full days. They roasted the beans to get the different colors, and then they glued each bean on this mosaic by hand. I bet it smells really, really good where this is displayed in Moscow right now. This mural will soon be gifted to a freeze-dried coffee company.
