R2-D2 Shares An Evening With 2 Pretty Ladies [Cosplay]

We’ve featured a lot of R2-D2 and Star Wars cosplay over the years, but this is the first time I’ve seen R2 as a ladies man and a socialite. It’s completely ridiculous yet so interesting that I can’t stop staring at these pictures. What you’ll see here is R2 having a fun picnic with a couple of very pretty companions, taking a walk in the weeds and even trying to catch a ride on a lonely road in the middle of the country. It’s a hillbilly cosplay theme, and it’s very creative and well done. This R2 proves that you don’t have to use Jedi tricks to win with the ladies.

There were a lot of people who collaborated in order to make this little series of pictures called An Evening With R2 possible. The ladies are cosplay queens Linda Le and Meagan Marie (Linda also handled the hair and makeup), and the pictures were taken by the very talented Andy Blake.

Now to the best part…the R2 droid…That little guy is fully functional! He was created by Mantium Design. He was made for more than just this cosplay scene, and he was actually debuted at WonderCon back in March. I wish I had more info about this R2 unit. I want to know exactly what “fully functional” means. If he comes complete with all the beeps and bleeps and projects holograms then dammmmn he’s even more fabulous than I already thought he was. Apparently Linda and Meagan are going to come up with more adventures for everyone’s favorite droid, so this won’t be the end of it.
