15 Grammar Goofs That Make You Look Silly [Infographic]

Grammar is one of the most debated subjects on the Internet. Trolls, know-it-alls and helpful grammar gurus all bring it up if they should stumble upon a comment, post or article that doesn’t really measure up to the English grammar rules. For someone who is not born or raised in a country where English is the native language, it can be hard to get the message across when you have to stumble along with grammar that doesn’t really make sense. However, that is no reason for someone to write negative comments about your illiterate ramblings. We all try to express ourselves through the spoken and written words that we have been exposed to through our upbringing. Some people find it easier to learn a language than others, and that is just how it is.

However, there is a difference between trying and learning. If we are not interested in correcting what we constantly do wrong when we write, we will simply never learn or improve our English grammar (or any other language that we might struggle with). This new infographic written by Copyblogger and designed by BlueGlass explains the differences between certain words that some people constantly get wrong.

It’s a list of 15 words that can be hard to distinguish if you are not used to their proper meanings. The infographic is called 15 Grammar Goofs That Make You Look Silly, and it is intended to help you understand and learn the true meaning and differences between these words. One thing we should always remember is that if we always do our best, we are constantly learning. Try to have a bit of patience with people who don’t immediately know and are subject to a eureka moment. I assure you, they won’t learn quicker just because they get bashed for every mistake they happen to make, quite the contrary. No one knows it all. Even brilliant writers like J.R.R. Tolkien have proof readers to correct any potential mistakes made in their text. Always remember, no one is perfect.
