15 Nature Photos We Didn’t Get To See

I guess we are really spoiled when it comes to all of those beautiful images that we are served when we look in nature magazines like National Geographic and others. They are professionally taken, and usually it takes the photographer several months to get the perfect shot which later gets published. Some of the photographs are insanely rare and are a one in a million shot, but the work that goes into these pictures never shows or comes to our attention. The images that we can see from just picking up a magazine from somewhere are just there. Do we ever think about what went into the process of getting them in there?

It’s a shame really since some of the pictures that didn’t make it into these magazines really tell a wider story about the whole endeavor. The website Awesome Galore actually ventured out into the vast web of the Internet and pulled together a really mind boggling series of photographs that we never got to see. Some are of course pictures that show a different angle of the wonderful nature that we are used to seeing. The interesting part is how these photographers (and hikers, runners etc) really go through whatever they can in order to get the right shot, or how they just stumble over it in some examples.

Being a professional photographer in the wild is anything but easy it seems, and I guess we should appreciate the magnificent images that we get served each and every day of the year. It’s easy to sit at the breakfast table and just soak in all the awesomeness without even thinking about it. The photographer, on the other hand, has probably spent a miserable several weeks preparing and scoping out the perfect photograph in hopes that it could possibly become historic someday, if the equipment is not broken by all the “ebil” animals out there.
