No, that is not some alien space craft. Unfortunately, we have not made contact with a benevolently advanced alien race, well, not any that our governments will admit anyway. Of course when I stumbled upon this, I clearly heard the line, “No. Mr. Bond, I expect you to DIE!” Sadly that quote is from Goldfinger and not The Spy Who Loved Me, which surely is the inspiration for this private floating island from Project Utopia by BMT Yachts.
Having spent 11 years of my early adult life in the US Coast Guard and much of that time out on the ocean, I can say that this is a marvel of modern engineering. As stunningly beautiful as this this vessel is, I am having difficulty imagining anyone being able to actually afford to keep one, let alone build and successfully launch it. This island consists of 11 decks with several helicopter landing pads, and it is the size of a modern luxury ocean liner. One stunning feature is the 360 degree observation deck on the top floor that supposedly has a nearly unobstructed view of the sky.
In either case, it is truly an intriguing prospect. If you have plans to extort trillions of dollars from the world’s governments, now you know where you can buy your secret evil layer (mu ha ha ha… ha).
