How To Drive Traffic To Your Site Using Pinterest [Infographic]

If you are up-to-date with the different social networking sites and services out there, you know that Facebook is the best traffic generating service you can use to drive traffic to your site. It could possibly be because of the easy to use and straight forward sharing possibilities that everyone instantly notices. Twitter is of course not too far behind, but it still generates less traffic since a lot of people look at Twitter like a full on chat engine, only in 140 characters per post. There are other traffic generating sites out there as well. For example, sites like StumbleUpon, Reddit and Digg are social bookmarking sites that could definitely increase the traffic to your site.

When it comes to Pinterest, which is the newest and brightest addition to the social media landscape, it can seem a little bit obscure how people are actually going to find your website through it. I had this discussion with Diana the other day, and we both were of the opinion that on Pinterest you rarely click to the actual host of the content pinned. This is interesting from a lot of different aspects. One is of course that sites like Bit Rebels, in particular, has enjoyed quite a lot of traffic from Pinterest lately. This surely means that people are clicking through on the links to the original source. So how come the perception of Pinterest is such that people are just browsing the content directly on Pinterest?

This question can only be answered by the users of Pinterest, and until there has been proper research about it, we’ll just have to stay in the dark about this paradox. That doesn’t really keep us from trying to help you drive traffic from Pinterest to your website. If you don’t know how, this infographic from Social Marketer Training should be the right tool for you. It’s a small guide in the form of an infographic that will take you through the steps for what it takes to direct traffic from Pinterest to your site. All you need to do is settle in and start pinning.
