This is definitely the most innovative and exciting piece of technology that I’ve seen today. It’s also the most successful product I’ve ever seen on kickstarter. They were trying to raise $25,000, and as of right now, they’ve raised $513,418. It’s things like this little invention kit, which is simple enough for a child to use, that really illustrate how growing up in today’s world is so different than it was even just ten years ago.
It’s an exciting time in our history, and I can only imagine what other useful things we’ll see released over the next few years. What makes this so neat is that with this little kit, you can turn anything into a fully functional touchpad.
Think about the endless applications this has. Not only could you just have fun with it and basically hook anything around your house up to the Internet and use it as a joystick, but you could also use this as a springboard for creating your own inventions where you just needed a little boost of technology.
It’s called a MaKey MaKey, and according to kickstarter, it allows you to “turn everyday objects into touchpads and combine them with the internet. It’s a simple invention kit for beginners and experts doing art, engineering and everything imbetween.” It comes with the actual Makey Makey, some alligator clips and a USB cable. You can watch the video below to see it in action. If you want to know all the geeky details for how this works, you can click over to kickstarter. Anyone can get this right now for $35, but after today the kickstarter campaign will be over. Very cool!
