Next Generation Newspapers Double As Wall Mounted Info Hubs

There has been a revolution when it comes to online news, and how it is delivered. The iPad and all the other tablets have served as a catalyst when it comes to speeding up the transition from paper news to digital news. The technology still has a lot to go through in order to work perfectly, but little by little we’ll get there. New concepts of software and hardware are being built as we speak, and only the future will tell what the consumers of the news will like or not. It’s basically up to them to decide what is going to become popular and what the standard will be when it comes to the delivery of news. One thing is for sure, and that is that news will be delivered through some kind of touch device, at least for a couple more years. That would be our best guess.

If we look at concept designers like Marko Vuckovic for example, we are heading towards a larger tablet standard with less shell interference. The screen is what matters, and with some AMOLED technology, this is going to be realized if the funding is there. This new tablet, called the Four concept, is an all news delivery device which could also serve as a wall mounted info hub. It can show pictures and slideshows in between the news updates, along with some other basic stuff, to make the integration with your lifestyle a little bit more seamless.

I especially like the clean design and simple approach. A lot of people who aren’t used to using a tablet are complaining that it is too hard to navigate since they are used to having physical buttons to lead their way. However, even though this concept looks and feels a little bit like an overgrown iPad, it still makes things a little bit easier since it is not jam packed with features that will confuse the novice user. Whether this device will become reality is of course hard to say. However, with Apple planning several new things this year, it will be interesting to see if they are planning on a smaller or bigger version of the iPad. We know there is a new iPhone to be announced this year, or at least that’s what the rumors say, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens. It is definitely an interesting concept for the novice user. Is the next generation info hub a simpler version of the iPad? I guess you, the consumers, will decide the answer to that question.
