The coronavirus affects all of us. It is also an uncertain period from a business perspective and many entrepreneurs are affected. Because we are dealing with a unique situation, many are actively seeking ways to deal with the crisis. We would like to give you some tips to get through this difficult period. After all, we’re in this together.
The first tip concerns your customers. Because we are suddenly forced to work in a different way, we lose a great deal of contact with our customers. Many meetings take place online and the real connection is missing. Still, it is important to keep in touch with your customers. Ask how the virus affects them, if they can use your help, and tell them how your company is experiencing the situation. By talking and creating more touch points, you keep your customers closer. And you need that more than ever.
You are not alone in this. Many companies are affected by COVID-19. It is therefore good to delve into other companies and see how they approach certain things. You can learn from similar companies in your industry. So, contact your community and be inspired.
The market is changing due to COVID-19. That takes some getting used to for every company. But if you respond on time, these changes can also develop as opportunities. COVID-19 greatly expands the online world. Take advantage of this and you may be able to expand your market.
Do you really provide the best possible service? You may have done this before COVID-19 arrived, but is it still the case today? It’s time to take another look at your service. Can you offer some extras now that many companies are struggling?
Financially, too, COVID-19 causes problems for many companies. First of all, it is important to do everything to keep your company as financially healthy as possible. So make sure customers pay the invoices when possible. Are they not paying? Find out whether there is unwillingness or inability and possibly engage a debt collection agency (Dutch: incassobureau inhuren) such as incassobureau.nl. Do you have trouble keeping your head above water? Then apply for financial support from the government. Find out what you are entitled to. You don’t have to do it alone.
Due to COVID-19 there is sometimes also time left. For example, because we no longer travel to the office every day and therefore save travel time. Or we may have more time because (unfortunately) some customers have left. Either way, this extra time also offers new opportunities. It is a good moment to tackle smaller projects that are normally forgotten. But it is also a good time to work on your own development. Read more, take a course that you would otherwise not have time for. Educate yourself.
While it may feel like COVID-19 is going to last for centuries, it isn’t. Eventually, there will be a vaccine and everything can return to normal. It is therefore important to prepare in advance. How do you deal with the recovery as a company? How can you anticipate this? Think about this in advance and make sure you don’t lag behind your competitors.
We hope that the above tips will help you to get through this period. We wish you good luck!
