Most of you guys know that we are huge fans of creative posters here at Bit Rebels. We are always looking forward to great submissions that will take our breath away. We especially like posters that have a unique feel to them, whether it is cubism, minimalism or just awesomeism. The way we see it, a poster is not only going to tell you a story but also draw you into thinking about what you have seen and take you on a leap into an imaginary world where only you can picture the awesomeness you have just witnessed. A fresh poster is like a reboot of an imaginary world that we never saw until we stumbled on a creative journey through what can only be described as an alternate poster reality.
Graphic designer Eric Palmer delivered exactly that when he set out to produce some mind boggling 8-bit movie posters. He not only managed to pick the legendary movies of the past and present, but also depicted the essence of their stories in an 8-bit world that we have all known as the era of the ’80s up until now. Just when you thought your favorite movies couldn’t get any more inspiring and awesome, Eric stepped up to deliver them one more time in an ever more intriguing package.
The 8-bit theme is a perfect fit for all of these movies, and I just wish they would have become underground games that we could play for free online. I mean, with the awesomeness these posters express, they would become viral material for sure if we would have been able to play these blocky characters as well, right? But for now, I guess we’ll just have to be satisfied with the badass approach of an ever expanding 8-bit universe, where yesterday’s 8-bit games are joined by today’s box office movies in the form of cutting edge 8-bit poster designs. We definitely hope to see more work from Eric and would like to invite him to submit his future work so that we can get a chance to have a look at it as well as feature it to you guys, our visitors.
